Changemaker

Hi, I'm Tara Finglas and I like to do things different. I try to learn something new every day, and I always look for the good in the world. I'm a tech fanatic and enthusiast, and I incorporate all of the new while respecting the genius of older technologies in my work. I may be 5 feet tall and fit in a box but my ideas and 'know how' are anything but small.

Towards an equitable world

grey-world-map-free-vector_42502.jpg

Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) uses Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for socioeconomic development, international development and human rights. The theory behind this is that more and better information and communication furthers the development of a society.

While access to the Internet remains limited in many developing countries, the rise of mobile technology has reframed the debate. Digital technological diffusion appears to be creating more cross-country convergences than divides as devices reach the world’s poorest populations. Indeed, we are witnessing a new wave of democratization of access to innovative information and communication channels, propelled by state-of-the-art technologies and diminishing barriers to entry.

Traveller

There's more than one way to get an education, and the world has so much to teach us. Grab every travel opportunity, and gain another culture, history and soon-to-be friends. It does mean leaving the safety of your couch but that's what postcards are for.
